My plan for the third week of 2019 is the same as last week’s. I’m going to do tactics for one hour every day, study a chess book (currently it’s Jeremy Silman’s The Amateur’s Mind) for one hour every day, and play at least one long (30+0) game every day (and do a post-game analysis).
3rd week should better than 2nd, though, so it would be nice to introduce something more. I have the following ideas:
- doing 1.5 hour of tactics every day (instead of 1 hour);
- improve the quality of doing tactics:
- make sure to never guess the solution and always calculate everything till the end,
- after each session create a set of incorrectly solved problems and try to solve them again;
- improve the quality of playing and analysing a long game (idk how to achieve this at the moment).
I think I’ll focus on the second described idea, as it seems the most beneficial and also interesting / exciting for me.
