This was my first week without any plans. I managed to play some games, solve some tactics, and even study a chess book. My ChessTempo blitz tactics rating drastically increased, but I think it’s mainly because I changed the mode to “hard”.

Funny thing, I beat a NM in 3+0 game (he berserked and I was super lucky, but still :)).

My main issues that I would like to do something with, are the following:

• I often have no idea how to convert a totally winning position. This week I played games where I had +3, +5 or even +7 in middlegame (with equal material), and I didn’t know what to do. I still don’t know even after post-game analysis. I see the computer moves, I see that sooner or later they give material advantage, but I have no idea why they work / how to spot the right moves next time, in another position.
• I don’t study books actively – I just read them and don’t think too much on my own.
• I don’t calculate tactics till the end.
