This week I introduced daily summaries. This might get me a better look into what I actually do, and what should I change in order to improve.

My plan was to spend at least 15 minutes per day solving ChessTempo standard tactics, always calculating everything before making a first move (yeah, that’s the way it should be done, but it wasn’t that obvious to me for a quite long time) – and I managed to fulfill it.

Besides that, my main chess activity was playing classical games (time controls 30+0 or similar) and analysing them.

• quickly glanced at few chess books
• played two classical games, but without much thinking
• looked at some openings

2019-02-12

• did 15 minutes of tactics as planned
• did additional 3 (sic) minutes of tactics
• added a few first moves of Alapin to my opening book
• played 4 classical games (all won)
  • didn’t think much while playing, but definitely could be worse
  • did some analysis afterwards – poor as always, except one game: I had better position (+2.5), but couldn’t think of a way of playing; I looked through moves and played it 2 or 3 times against computer; finally I created a study (on lichess) for this and similar positions (me being unable to convert a winning position is one of the big things I’d like to change)

  • in game one I was super happy, because I got position very similar to the one I analysed 3 days ago. This time I didn’t lose my advantage and managed to win quite easily
