This week I managed to fulfill my plans.
Things that went well
- I managed to solve tactics the correct way (always calculating everything before making the first move) most of the time;
- my ChessTempo standard rating is rapidly increasing.
Things that could / should be improved
- I didn’t do much besides doing tactics. I didn’t play a lot, and I didn’t read any books;
- although my ChessTempo standard rating is increasing, it results in me getting harder and harder problems to solve. It causes two things:
- some of them are beyond my capabilities (there’s no way of solving them without guessing – even after thinking for 20-30 minutes)
- it takes me more time than average to solve most of the problems (I don’t know whether it’s necessarily bad – it’s good that it makes me think deeply, but sometimes it turns solving method into pure brute force, which as far as I know is not beneficial for learning).
